No one knows where these codes are going. What we do know and I have it on INCREDIBLY good authority is that the DTI have no idea what to do with these codes, nor can they offer much assistance when it comes to interpretation. This is good, once again it's all about interpretation. And I am notorious for interpretation. The time has come to impart this knowledge in a seminar type environment. We're organising two hour sessions in Johannesburg in the first week of September (starting on the 6th). We will also do corporate ones. Timing is now of the essence. I'm not going to lumber the listener with the complexities of figuring out how to measure employment equity (which is ridiculously complicated), nor am I going to talk about the ridiculousness of the skills development code. What I am going to talk about is the founding principles of BEE and the Codes and the Constitution and the Act and how these can be used when it comes to implementation. And then there will be ED/SD and procurement solutions. And on top of that David Kalmin is going to take you through ownership options. David is an auditor and a tax expert, he will offer an insight into optimal structures that few people have considered.
And the good news – all of this in two hours for R300. Here followeth the email that I have sent out to my clients. I really want to get out to Cape Town so be sure to book me. (Durban too and anywhere else – have guitar will travel)

Every man and his dog is now sending out emails to all and sundry placing the fear of God in all because compliance is ridiculously complex and expensive and only they can solve your problems. What they aren't telling you is that the old BEE codes have not yet run out of road, this is however the last year to make use of the old BEE codes.
This is another one of those emails (just no fear implied) but is targeted at people I have worked for over the last 10 years. I have an intimate understanding of your business and have a moral responsibility to ensure that I prepare you and your company for next year's BEE certification.
I'm a compliance expert, my job is to understand what the requirements are and come up with solutions that translate into a presence on the scorecard. I say presence because the esteemed minister has chosen to make compliance more difficult, mark negatively and has upped the entrance onto the scorecard from 30 to 40 points.
To get the ball rolling we have partnered with David Kalmin of D Kalmin and Associates to host a series of information sessions in September. Most of you will have had BEE certificates issued by D Kalmin so you'll be familiar with the company. I have worked closely with Louis Nel and David over the last five years and in that time we have come to understand the challenges faced by all companies in South Africa when it comes to managing the BEE process. We have agreed on a wide variety of solutions that are working very successfully around the country. In short David, Louis and I work very well together.
The sessions will specifically focus on the priority elements (ownership, skills development and enterprise/supplier development – which includes procurement). David will cover the ownership options. I will be dealing with the supplier development requirements and potential solutions that exist to deal with the overwhelming requirements in a simple fashion.
These sessions will be held over the first two weeks of September 2016, starting on the 5th of September at 8:30, we've opted for smaller groups of people over those two weeks and will hold a number of sessions to cater for the demand.
Maximum number of delegates per session – 12 (although in house sessions can be arranged to cater for larger numbers).
